Aru Kodou

This song was written in the aftermath of the Tôhoku Earthquake of March 11, 2011. Like many songs written at that time, it seems to be acknowledging the terrible losses while also encouraging Japan to be strong and carry on. The main lyric “the beat that is here” seems to refer to the pulse of Japan itself and everyone who lives there. When this song is played live, the band invites the audience to contribute to the rhythm by stomping their feet and clapping their hands, as if to manifest that shared pulse.
