Hanare Banare
In my translation quest, I’ve started at the beginning. This is clammbon’s major debut, their first big-time single and their first video. The title of this song is rather hard to translate, as its meaning is something like, “the state of being separated from one another”, which doesn’t flow very well. Andy Szymanski, good buddy and pro video-game localizer at Tecmo, helped out a ton on this song, and proposed this English title.

Far Apart
Let’s climb up to some high place, some perfect, high, high place
If we do, we might be able to see our future
The moment we let go of each other’s hand, our burdens grow heavy
If we could just always be together like that time…
Each night we sleep apart makes the two of us
A little bit stronger
If we get a little bit stronger…
Let’s crawl into some deep place, some pitch-dark, deep, deep place
If we do, we might be able to know the truth
I wave my hand, “see you next time”, until you’re out of sight
If we could just always be together like that time…
Each night we sleep apart makes the two of us
A little bit stronger
If we get a little bit stronger…
